In Match 50 of IPL T20 season 2, Virender Sehwag won the toss and decided to bat. With the help of a brilliant 79 off 55 balls by AB de Villiers, Delhi Daredevils scored 150/3 in 20 overs. All the Rajasthan Royals batsmen struggled and they lost regular intervals and could only score 136/9 in 20 overs. AB de Villiers was awarded the Man of the Match of his brilliant innings.

Delhi Daredevils and Deccan Chargers were both sitting near the top of the points tally before the 43rd Match of IPL T20 season 2 and the match was seen by many as a fight for an almost guaranteed semi-final berth. Adam Gilchrist won the toss and put Delhi Daredevils to bat. Delhi Daredevils did not look very comfortable against the Deccan Chargers bowlers but Dinesh Karthik (44 off 23 balls), AB de Villiers (44 off 36 balls) and Tillakaratne Dilshan (37 off 18 balls) played blazing knocks to guide Delhi Daredevils to 172/7 in 20 overs. Deccan Chargers started the run chase in style as Adam Gilchrist blazed to 64 runs in 33 balls. Even after he got out Andrew Symonds (41 off 22 balls) attacked the bowling and Deccan Chargers were looking at a comfortable position with just 25 runs needed off 20 balls with 7 wickets in hand. But then wickets fell in quick succession and all of a sudden Deccan Chargers were bowled out for 161 runs in 19.4 overs. Rajat Bhatia and Pradeep Sangwan were the star bowlers for the Delhi Daredevils with bowling figures of 4/15 and 3/18 respectively. Rajat Bhatia was awarded the Man of the Match for taking the crucial 4 wickets which helped Delhi Daredevils turn the match around in their favour.

Gautam Gambhir, the Delhi Daredevils’ captain for the match won the toss and put Kolkata Knight Riders to bat. Sourav Ganguly (44 off 45 balls) and Ajit Agarkar (39 off 29 balls) top scored as Kolkata could only reach 123/8 in 20 overs. Amit Mishra (3/14), Ashish Nehra (2/29) and Dirk Nannes (2/15) were good for the Delhi Daredevils with the ball. Delhi Daredevils cruised to 125/3 in 17.1 overs guided by useful knocks from AB de Villiers (40 off 32 balls) and David Warner (36 off 23 balls). Amit Mishra was awarded the Man of the Match for his brilliant bowling.

Delhi Daredevils thrashed Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets in the 35th match of IPL T20 season 2. Sachin Tendulkar won the toss and decided to bat. The Mumbai Indians batting lineup crumbled once again and they were bowled out for a mere 116 runs in their 20 overs. Ashish Nehra (2/27), Dirk Nannes (2/32) and Rajat Bhatia (3/15) had the best bowling figures for the Delhi Daredevils. Delhi Daredevils played sensibly without losing much wickets and they cruised to 118/3 in 18.5 overs guided by 50 runs off 38 deliveries by A B De Villiers. Ashish Nehra was awarded the Man of the Match.

Delhi Daredevils and Chennai Super Kings are both probable winners of IPL T20 season 2 and so this match was expected to be a cracker. Virender Sehwag won the toss and decided to bat. Both Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir went out cheaply and it seemed Delhi was not in its usual song today. But then AB de Villiers (105 off 54 balls) hit the first century of IPL 2 and Tillakaratne Dilshan hit 50 off 27 balls to guide Delhi to the highest score of IPL T20 season 2 till now. Delhi Daredevils scored 189/5 in 20 overs giving a seemingly impossible to total to chase of 190 runs. Balaji shone with the ball with 3/19 in his 4 overs. But Chennai Super Kings bounced back very well and with brilliant innings from Matthew Hayden (57 off 27 balls) and Suresh Raina (41 off 27 balls) the match became very competitive. However, they lost too many wickets and they finished at 180/9 in their 20 overs. Pradeep Sangwan and Danniel Vettori shone with the ball with 3/28 and 2/29 respectively. AB De Villiers was awarded the Man of the Match for his blistering century.
